Dear Bhakti Lounge community,

As you are all aware, the government has announced the new COVID 19 Protection Framework, putting in place the new traffic light system from 3rd December, and within this Framework, businesses are given the opportunity to assess and decide whether customers and employees are required to be vaccinated.

Being run by volunteers for over 20 years, the Bhakti Lounge management is facing a very difficult decision on whether to opt-in or out of requiring proof of vaccination status of our guests. We want to be as inclusive as possible as this decision will directly impact our operation and affect who will be able to join our much-loved festivities, workshops, retreats and, of course, the dinners!

As the government has announced that Wellington will be in the orange settings, under which, if opting in for not requiring proof of vaccination status of our guests, it would mean Bhakti Lounge can only provide contactless takeaways making our operation almost non-viable.

Again, this is a very difficult decision for us. Still, we really want to keep providing an uplifting place for the people of Wellington to come to – especially in these challenging times.

So to keep our doors open, we are announcing that from 3rd December, Bhakti Lounge will require proof of vaccination status from anyone who comes to our events.

We hope to have everyone back in the doors of Bhakti Lounge as soon as we can. Until then, please reach out and let us know if you still want to be connected to Bhakti Lounge but won’t be able to come in due to these circumstances. We want to be there for you and will try our best to create some other options.
We appreciate your kindness and understanding as we navigate through these trying circumstances.

We also want to let you know that Bhakti Lounge’s last night of 2021 will be Wednesday 16th Dec, reopening again for soulfeast Sunday 9th Jan 2022.

Hope to see you all soon.
Bhakti Lounge team
