Yoga Pose #1 - Pigeon

Target area = the hips!

The pigeon pose can be gruelling for first timers and well experienced practitioners, as there is no end to how deep you can get into this pose. It simultaneously targets both legs, getting the hip flexors of the extended leg (the ones you really feel if you’re a runner) and the external rotators of the front leg (the ones that get super tight after a day of sitting down).

Try one a day (3 minutes each side) and your guaranteed to feel looser and more supple around the hip area, and a nice side effect is less stressed! One of the places we carry a lot of tension and stress is the hips so giving them a good thorough stretch out, regularly, helps prevent build up of residue tension.
