In this workshop you will learn:

  • how to select, match and blend spices
  • how to toast spices
  • how to store spices
  • how to decide between fresh, whole and ground spices
  • and much more.

While they may seem simple, fresher spice mixes, advanced spice skills and lots of love take these dishes to the next level.

Garam Masala and Fenugreek Rice

Why does rice have to be plain? Learn how to zush it up with freshly blended garam masala and perfectly toasted fenugreek.

Ayurvedic Masala Seasonal Vegetables

Learn how to add a range of spice blends to plain old vegetables. Not only will this make them taste spectacular, but it will also aid digestion and improve health, thanks to ancient Indian health science.

Jackfruit Stir-Fry Noodles

Learn how to make Chinese 5-Spice from scratch, thereby adding so much more flavour than you would get with stale spice mixes from the store. Using simple jackfruit, vegetables, noodle and our fresh spice mix we will make an amazing, aromatic stir-fry leaving your nose in ecstasy.

Thai Pumpkin Soup

Learn how to make a dazzling Thai Curry Paste which can be used in a whole range of currys. We will be using it to turn boring old Pumpkin Soup into a zesty, heartwarming mouth teaser.

Man’oushe Flatbreads

We won’t wade into the debate on whether it is from Syria or Israel, but we will blow your mind with this dish because of its complex spice mix Za’atarits herby, zesty and nutty flavour will leave you zinging.



Class starts at 5:30 pm, please come 15 minutes early so we can start on time. Paid parking is available surrounding Bhakti Lounge, on Walter street, Vivian Street or across the road at the car park on Willis St.

Includes Vegan dinner and dessert enjoyed together. Please BYO jar for spice mix!
