Hidden Groves Retreat Centre is a beautiful, spacious venue nestled in the lush, native bush of the Ōtaki Gorge. Being just walking distance to the Ōtaki river and sitting below the Tararua Range, this is the perfect place to reconnect with nature, and nourish your body, mind and soul with loved ones!

This stunning venue is just 20 minutes drive from the Waikanae train station, so it's easy to access from Wellington, and is just 15 minutes drive from the Ōtaki shops. From the venue, you can basque in picturesque 360 degree views of the ocean, surrounding rolling hills and vibrant native bush.

The serene, secluded location of this gem means you can enjoy the sounds of the native birds singing and waterfalls trickling during the day, and star gaze in the clear sky at night.

Facilities offered inside the venue:

Three rooms with four bunk beds in each (12 beds total)
Two extra rooms with four bunk beds in each (8 beds total)
A large, main hall space with a data projector installed
A smaller room for break out meetings or to use for extra beds
Five internal toilets and showers
Two external toilets
A kitchenette for guests
A commercial kitchen, cool room and food storage space
Outdoor sinks for washing dishes
A large deck with picnic tables

Catering

We have a brand new, first class commercial kitchen from which we would LOVE to provide vegan or vegetarian catering for your event!

We do not hire out the kitchen for guests to cook in, as professional training is required.

We aim for our venue to be an eco-friendly and conscious space. As we usually use this space for yoga and meditation events we ask that you kindly do not bring or consume any meat, egg, onion, garlic, fish or alcohol here. This is strictly a no drugs and alcohol venue. If you smoke or vape, please do this outside the property.
